To mark their 25th anniversary and celebrate the firm’s first book (published by Rizzoli), Sawyer | Berson embarked on a website overhaul with a redesigned project portfolio and expanded documentation of their studio culture and process. Paying respect to their three areas of expertise —architecture, landscape design and interiors— the innovative new site encourages users to explore editorialized project scrolls and can be filtered for discipline-specific work. To achieve brand-cohesion, our engagement culminated with robust digital brand guidelines, a social media content strategy and sets of personal stationery for the firm’s two founding principals.
Photography is an essential element of all Hoffman projects and conveys a narrative often too difficult to communicate by words alone. To articulate the nuances of Sawyer | Berson’s studio culture, Hoffman proposed that we handle photography in-house. Our development of the website art direction allowed us to capture assets with aesthetic precision and an awareness of their positioning within the greater narrative. The result is a behind-the-scenes peek at the firm’s process and an extensive image archive documenting the studio and staff for all communication touchpoints, including social media.
