Established in San Francisco over two decades ago by designer Steven Volpe, the eponymous design studio, renamed Studio Volpe, has expanded its interior design projects to city and country residences in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London and beyond. The studio’s bespoke interiors have been featured in numerous publications and awarded placement on the prestigious AD100. Hoffman supported the studio’s expansion by recommending the name change to “Studio Volpe” and crafting proprietary identity elements including custom wordmark, brand color palette, primary typography, stationery suite and a new, portfolio driven website. Hoffman collaborated with Studio Volpe on the design of Steven’s first book, Rooms, released Fall 2021 with Rizzoli Publications.
Studio Volpe is credited with being our first client whose brand development work culminated in a published portfolio by Rizzoli. Steven Volpe Rooms is a 272 page monograph featuring 8 of the studio’s most iconic projects. Hoffman oversaw all aspects of the book’s design from layout and pagination to materiality and art direction. For the limited edition, Hoffman created a handsome slip case with the blind-stamped initials S.V.
